How to Use a Postal API

A postal API is a set of standardized data and methods for retrieving and displaying address information. The postal API is commonly called the USPS address verification API. This is an Application Programming Interface (API) that enables developers to configure the Web Service for addresses. The API is easy to use, requires no complex installation or learning curve, and updates automatically each month. It can be used in a variety of ways, from creating a custom postal app to managing address storage and UI.

If you'd like to use Postal for email marketing, you can develop an application using its API. The Postal API includes inline runable examples. For example, the SendLetterAndAddress method sends a letter to an address. Once the document is received, the address is placed on it. You can choose from different letter templates such as the #10 double window envelope. For this method, you must use a postfix-compatible mail server.

The postal debounce() method allows you to delay the execution of your callback by a specified amount of time. This feature is useful when the last message of a stream is not yet ready for processing. If you want to make sure you get the most recent message, you can use postal debounce(). The API also offers Congressional information. Its documentation is easier to understand than that of the USPS, so you can work independently.
